Prof. Bryan has been teaching accounting for over 30 years at various academic institutions, namely NYU, Baruch, Wake Forest, and Fordham. He has held tenured positions at Baruch and Wake, and is currently a tenured full professor at Fordham in the Gabelli School of Business. He has also had visiting teaching assignments at major institutions in Germany and Austria.
For over 25 years, he has also taught at many of the leading banks (U.S. and international) and law firms, as well as at various public corporations. He has also provided accounting training at governmental agencies. Out of these experiences, he developed materials and the text in order to be able to cover a wide range of topics in a simple, clear, yet also rigorous, manner.
His research focuses on executive compensation practices (both U.S. and international) and accounting measurement and disclosure issues. He has published in major academic and practitioner journals in both areas.
